10/19 today. one out of the 19 is broody sitting on eggs .

21 Again yesterday from 30 Gold Comets! I think maybe 3 or 4 of the 11 Youngsters are now laying. We got four small, bantam size eggs yesterday I assume came from them. I starting to think I need a second coop though. The 4d x 8w x 4h coop now has 30 hens and pullets and that's a lot of poop! We clean the coop daily but still, that's still a lot.

22 from our 30 GC's. The Youngsters (11 we just added 3 weeks ago) are starting to lay. No small eggs today. We did get a couple of really weird enlongated ones though so I'm assuming they're laying them. It takes a while for their systems to adjust and they lay normally. The angst with the pecking order seems to be abating. There's still a couple of mean biddies who enjoy making the Youngsters miserable but they seem to be staying more or less out of the way of them now.
