Its really annoying when you are trying to chase them out of the garden and they decide NOT to run, but to crouch so i have to carry all 12 chickens OUT of the garden...

i would preffer if they just didnt move when your trying to get them that way no running and no eating dirt that sounds a lot better

got 1~but as far as i can tell we only have one hen laying. we've gotten one everyday this week. she started laying 8/28/12. but i can't wait till my others start!!

Only 2 of 6 today, but I reckon after the 6 of 6 yesterday, they're due for a little break, LOL

3/4 today.......and on the 7th day she rested! Gertie that is our BR....just like they said in the book...... the hens willl lay about an hour later each day and when the time of lay reaches sundown, they will skip a day and start the cycle all over again, yup thats how it went for her anyway, the franken chickens haven't taken a day off in 12 days running now!

2 for us today. I'm almost positive there's a hidden nest. My leghorn looks so ready. I can't believe she's not laying.

I found a REALLY good way to find hidden nests. I didn't want to hold them inside for most of the day waiting for eggs, so i let them out later then usual. Watch your leghorn. If she makes a bee line for a certain place, that is her nest. You may have to vary time, depending on how late she lays. hope it helps!

most likely 4/4 another one looks like she is ready to start laying. yesterday she was going around to different spots and laying down and singing the egg song. but her combs are big and red.

for the first time today i got 5 eggs from 6 chooks

pretty chuffed about that as my usual is 3 or 4 a day
