Nelson, i never hatched chickens before only ducklings, and if I remember it was 28 days give or take a day, not sure about chicks, also I always did them in an incubator never with a hen. I was only 12 years old bought myself a strofoam incubator from the Agway store near home, and hatched 49 out of 50 eggs!! a few died shortly after birth not sure why, but most grew up healthy and cute as could be. They were chocolate brown color, a roanne breed? I think? looked kinda like a malard? the drake might have been a mutt, or a muscovy or a pekin, had several not sure who daddy was?JAJAJAJAJAJA TOTTALY WHAT IM WORRIED IS THE DUCK EGGS DOES IT TAKE LONGER OR ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS THE CHICKS
