How many Eggs did you Sell today?

I sent in 10 dozen. My hens are not laying as well as they were, and I cannot understand why.

I had switched to 20% protein laying feed, and I am wondering if perhaps they did better on the 16%.

What do the rest of you feed?

I know what you mean when you said that someone insisted they pay MORE. An older couple stopped by my house the other day and wanted some fresh eggs. He wanted the eggs that I picked THAT day. He asked how much did I sell my eggs and i told him $1.50 (that's about all people are willing to pay in my neck of the woods). When I told him that he said that he couldn't give me that low of a price because he knew the value of farm fresh county eggs. He insisted on giving me $2.25 per dozen and he would not allow me to sell them to him any less. I, of course, didn't argue. He bought 5 dozen eggs from me and said that he wants to be a regular customer. Wish all of my customers were like that. I would like to increase prices but I don't think that I would get as many customers. They don't understand how our eggs are healthier and taste better than store bought eggs. I have regular and loyal customers, so I won't complain about $1.50 per dozen.

None today but I'll have three dozen to take in tomorrow morning for the gang at work. I would have had four but my neighbor came by and I gave him a dozen. Had to because he lets me borrow his tractor whenever I need to scrape or till something up. Good deal for all around!!!
