How many Eggs did you Sell today?

Sold 2 doz. this afrtenoon, now I'm dow to 3 doz. for sale. Isn't it funny when I had 36 doz. saved up I couldn't sell an egg if I had them 2 for 1 now that I'm down to the last few doz. everybody wants them all of the sudden. Wouldn't have it any other way though.

I've been so busy focusing on all the problems I've had, that I hadn't even thought to pop over here to say that I've sold my first 3 dozen in the last few weeks!!

I have someone stopping by to pick another dozen up today!!!

I got between $3 and $4 for all I've sold so far. This week we switch to certified feed and next weeks eggs will be $5 doz!!

Way to go, Everyone above!!! Your Gals deserve a treat! I took 4 dozen in this morning and got to work at 7:50. Two people were waiting by my door and they took a dozen each. By 8:05 all four dozen were gone for $3/Dozen. And I've got orders for another 4 dozen tomorrow which won't get completely filled until Thursday. They can't get enough of them. Everyone has told me they've been eating a lot more eggs since they've been getting them from me. Must be the illicit drugs we feed to the Gals...

Hey, Jim W, I ordered 10 Gold Comet pullets from Cackle Hatchery. I hope they do well. I thought of the Production Reds or Cherry Eggers, but decided on the Gold Comets, partly because of your enthusiasm. So we will see (in a few months) how they do.

I ordered 5 EE's also. I have had good luck with Cackle's chickens, in spite on one shipping problem with them, which may have been the Post Office and not the hatchery. I can't tell. They ended up at a Post Office about 40 miles away for some odd reason, and I went frantically driving after them so that they wouldn't be out any longer than necessary.

I am trying to hatch out or buy a few chicks every few months so that I won't end up with three months out of the year that I have hardly any eggs, which is what happened last year.

I have given away a few dozen this week, and I will still most likely have 10 dozen to sell on Friday, which is when I send mine in with my husband.

Re the gals deservng a treat, I sent for a whole bunch of meal worms for them. What do you think, will they like them?

Great! I hope they do work out. I feel they will if they have a good home that I'm sure you'll give 'em. I can't say enough about our 19 GC's. It was my understanding that Production Reds and Gold Comets were the same but I guess that's not true. They are also sometimes called Red Sex Links or Ginger Queens. Whatever they're called I call 'em the Best Layers Ever!!!

Today I sold two dozen for $3/dozen. I had to turn away a couple of my regulars because 'Hurricane' Julie, our Dear Daughter blew through here last night and absconded with two dozen I'd set aside for today. It's not a good thing here at my work to disappoint people when it comes to their food. We're talking about cubicle rats from down on the first and second floors who can smell a doughnut or bagel all the way up on the third floor. It's not very pretty when they go into a feeding frenzy here...

Good luck with your GC's when you get them and keep us all posted!
