How many eggs do you get from your marans?

How many eggs a week do you get from your marans? I picked up a cuckoo Maran just a few days ago. I read one article they are poor layers then the next article says average to above average.

I'm real excited to get my chocolate brown eggs! I wished I picked up two, but I don't want too many chicks in my coop, I still have room for more, but I want my hens to have more room then what's required. Plus I free range a few hours a day(supervised due to hawks, owls and roaming dogs).

How many eggs a week do you get from a single Maran? Thanks!

My two year old cuckoo marans are average layers...about 4-5 eggs a week a piece. Their dark brown egg shell color will lighten as the birds get older also, not anything you can do about it. Enjoy them, they're very friendly birds.
