how many eggs does a hen lay a day?

i was wondering because i have 2 hens and i was wondering if i would need to make room or not in the fridge for the eggs or not.

They lay about one a day.

I heard somewhere on average it's one eggs every 26 hours. But it depends on the time of year, breed of chicken, age of chicken etc.

so how does the hen hatch a group of chicks?does she just hatch one egg at a time sence its just one egg aday

She will lay a clutch (group of) eggs then go broody where she sits on them for around 21days.

Some also occasionally short cycle that is lay an egg in under 24 hours.

While chickens can be unpredictable, most lay at a steady rate that is chicken specific.

They will skip a day when they lay an egg in the very late afternoon/early evening time period.

Hey thanks for that info! That explains why my girls only laid three today after weeks of laying 6-7 a day. Three of the hens did not lay until late yesterday and today they didn't lay at all!
