how many eggs per hen ?

How many eggs can a hen lay per day? My DH tells me one hen can lay more than one egg per day?? Is that so? Thank you.

A good laying hen can lay an egg every 25 hours with age this will decrease. It takes 24 to 26 hours for a hen to produce an egg; there is 30 minutes between each egg-producing cycle.

I have heard people say that their hens laid 2 eggs per day. I have never had this happen. One per day and every few days they miss a day. Storeys guide says it takes @ 25 hours to produce 1 egg. ???
