How many eggs?

I have a broody hen and I want to put a few eggs under her. How many can I put under her. She is a full size chicken about 5 pounds or so.

I think about 12 eggs is "comfortable."
I had a broody sitting on 22 eggs once.
The issue you have to be aware of is that if there are too many eggs, the eggs on the "outside" have a higher chance of getting too cold.
As she rotates the eggs, the "warm" eggs will be pushed to the outside and could become cold.
So just keep enough eggs under her where they are all covered comfortably (you don't see eggs spilling out the sides).
