How many fake eggs?

I was reading on here that giving the silkies fake eggs to incubate might encourage them to go broody.

How many fake eggs (golf balls) should I put in the nest box? Like, how many will make their little brains go "oh! I should sit on these!" ?

With a silkie, ONE..................Ive had some try to hatch out rocks................

I've had the two silkies for 2 weeks and they have laid 6 eggs between them, but still no broody :-(

But, one is molting and the other is growing back the missing tail feathers. So maybe that is why.
