How Many Have A Yardbird Plucker?

I have one, its not bad. It does save us a lot of time. We had a couple broken wings, but due to the weather, we had to postpone butchering for 10 days. The chickens were averaging 8-10lbs live weight, and it appeared that 2 were almost too much to pluck at once. Keeping the scalding pot at 150* wasn't difficult with the propane heater. For what you pay for a plucker, I expected more power honestly.

Here is a picture of 10 of the 20 we butchered. We still have about 2dz left to do.

My Cornish X were really big also. The breast meat was about 3 lbs of meat all by itself when I took it off the bone. The plucker did good with all of them. I think taking off the feet would be a good idea.

I left the feet on at first, and it broke some toes, no biggie. Took the feet off a couple, and it actually broke the end of one of the joints off. I think I'll leave the feet on unless I put two in at a time.

Just order a yardbird this morning. $350 with tax from Walmart. I also ordered an eviscerating table from eBay for $55 (the small table with the grove around the edge and with the faucet/sink) . Can’t wait for them to get in. I was going to process the birds tomorrow but now I’ll delay until next weekend until everything is in. Glad to hear that everyone seems to like the units.
