how many have at least one chicken decoration in the house?

I have this in my kitchen window

I also have a chicken bank that I keep our egg money in. I also have a duck statue that I gave my DS after his 1st duckling died to remind him of her.

The person we bought this house from is a dear and sweet person but we don't share decorator tastes; when we moved in, it felt a little bit like Country Peddler had thrown up in here.....I had to take down bird's nest wall borders, etc. I SWORE no chicken motifs would ever grace my walls.

Two years later I'm an avid chicken fan and actually have a metal rooster my mom gave me as a gift sitting with some other metal arty pieces I have and I find it totally cool!

I have some.My mom bless her heart she was an Avid collector.Maybe thats why I have had so many "real ones".She passed away 2 years ago Feb.18th.My brother's decided We wouldn't do anything with her thing's when she passed away.So pretty much her house is still full of her chicken collection' and her belonging's.I guess We need to make some sort of plan for her thing's.My oldest brother who live's on the property isnt in the best health.I know I wouldn't have room for all the collectibles and stuff myself.I would like to have some of them though.I know mom would have wanted someone to have them and love them as much as she did.My youngest daughter 19 draws and today in my mother's day card she drew of course another chicken for me .I love it

I have TONS of chicken stuff, even a HUGE nice rug that is gorgeous, 2 smaller ones. and TONS of statues. I even have a country pine tree decorated with clear lights and chickens lol

I have a rooster shaped glass decorative kitchen thingy, except I use it for a doorstop coz my grandma used to have some kind of rooster decoration repurposed as a doorstop too. I got it for a wedding present.

I have a metal decorative garden rooster on my front porch -- got it before I had real yard birds

He has since collected a concrete hen, and three metal chicks. None of them match -- on purpose because I was afraid if I tried to find "matching" ones they would look awkward - so I went for a totally opposite look instead.

Potterwatch... I LOVE those pictures!!! Very cool!

I love all types of odd stuff, I'm more bohemian in style decorating, but.....chickens have started 'cheeping' in with all of my odd collection.

So far, the chickens are showing up in the kitchen first, dh gave me a rooster statue for a Christmas gift and it just went from there...I have the roo statue, at least 3 chicken potholders, hand towels and washclothes, and DH's adorable Pekin ceramic duck that we had long before we ever thought we'd have chickens! He loved it because it "looked so soft and cuddly." It was supposed to be an Ebay item, he wouldn't sell it and even cancelled the auction before it could be bid on!

(Disclaimer, my dh is the most stoic person you'll meet, that is what cracks me up so much.

I know he's a teddy bear, and has the most tender heart,, but you have to get to know him first. Otherwise, well, he has the nickname of 'Data' for a reason.

That duck is still up on the breakfront and I won't part with it for any amount of money. )


OH, I forgot about the rooster coffe mugs, the rooster coat rack and the greatest sign from the oldest that reads, "There's a place for all of God's creatures.....right next to the potatoes and gravy!"

The oldest has Asperger's Autism, and for him to get me something that I actually laughed at and that he picked out himself because he knew it would put me on the floor laughing with all of the roo troubles that we'd had, was priceless! That one I'm keeping forever!!
