how many hens per tom

how many hens can one tom service.they will be in a pen not free ranging.we were thinking 3-4 hens for our tom.will we still get a good fertily rate like that

You will be fine. That's enough for him to handle.

A common rule or thumb is 5 to 1. You hear of a few people going higher and having good luck. My problem is that I want to keep more toms because they all look so nice.

That will be a fine ratio. If he is young, 1-4 years, he should be able to cover a dozen.
