Yes you can use tin. One of my coops has a tin roof.

I will try to take pictures when I am finished, maybe a couple of the building process. Don't be expecting much though, this is just a bunch of old scrap wood and I'm not an experienced builder LOL. I haven't started yet, the weather is starting to get cold again. It was warm (in the upper 40's F) yesterday, warmer than it has been in a while. Warm enough to make me start thinking about spring! But today was back into the lower 30's, supposed to get colder again for the rest of this week. I will begin working when the weather is nicer! Thanks for all the input, I appreciate it!
