How many is a minimum for a Flock?

lol I like it.

Give them time to consider things. You just dropped off your resume, Give them time to call you for the interview. I would give them a couple of days before sending a friendly reminder that your interested. When people feel pushed, they generally default to "No"

Ok here is what I got

Dear Mr. Xxxxxxx,

In waiting for your response I thought it would be best if I clarified myself and my request a bit.

Chickens are social creatures used to living in a flock and when they are kept solitary they tend to call out looking for others thus becoming a nuisance to my neighbors. The reason for wanting three versus two si that if anything happened to one they still have a pair in the flock. This is important because introducing new hens, especially birds of different ages can be so traumatic until the pecking order is re-established. During this time it would again create a nuisance to my neighbors.

In regards to their housing. I will be building a high quality, small footprint, low profile coop and taking the proper steps to ensure it will not be seen from the street. It will be of virtually no impact to my neighbors. Part of this coop will be a hen run so that they have a safe enclosed area that they can get exercise in. The coop will be kept hygienic as these hens will be new members of my family and as such I would want them to be happy and healthy. All of my neighbors whom I have spoken with are OK with this plan.

I have included some links below to additional supporting information as well as a link to a similarly built coop so you can have a visual idea of what I intend on building. The one in the picture houses 9 hens whereas mine will be a smaller version only needing to care for 3.
