How many males to keep?

My geese are 13 or 14 weeks now and I’m fairly certain there is one female and three males. (Not really able to see in the photo.) I’m assuming this by their size, body shapes, and pitch of their honks. My question is, will I have to get rid of two males so there’s only one with the female? I’m not sure if ganders fight and need a proper male/female ratio. Thank you!

Just from what others have said most likely one of the ganders will get the boot since geese pretty much pair up. If you keep all 3 ganders you could have two groups ganders and the pair. Or get two more female but there is no guarantee one gander won’t take them all. @jtn42248

It might be safer to slit them into two pairs. Ganders can get along fairly well together, but regardless of who’s what geese seem “from what I’ve seen/may not be true for all geese” to form groups of up to three with a fourth sometimes being left out of the clique.

This is all really great info! I thought I’d have to get rid of two but I’d be so happy if I can keep them all and just separate into two pairs. They’re my buds and I was pretty bummed at the thought of giving two away.

We have 7 Toulouse grouped as one male with 4 females and 1 male with 1 female. The get along pretty well sharing a bit more than 3 acres. But when mating season is on us they fight to the death trying to take all the females.
