That's a lot of broodies!Is 7 nest boxes too many for 9 Hens?
Not when you have 5 Broodys...
Pic was taken in July...all 9 hens in that coop went broody this year. It was pure chaos, and I'm hope it happens again next year.
I had 10 total this year. All 9 hens in the Black Copper Marans coop and a Black Australorp in the mixed Coop.

2 of the Marans I needed to immediately break at hatch as they both killed their first born and a third gave up raising her chicks after 2 weeks and a month later went broody again so needed to break her also. So I've had fun all summer with chicks running around here since Easter....
This was my first experience with it and it really shocked me to see it happening. And then I was undecided, do I continue letting them hatch and have more deaths, so I ultimately pulled the eggs.
