how many nest boxes

I know its probably been asked a million times...but how many nest boxes do I need for 12 hens

If I remember right, it's one nest box for every four hens. So, you should probably have at least 3. You might want to consider whether you would ever get more birds in the future and plan accordingly. I started out with 2 nest boxes, sure I would never need more ..... we now have nine.

Yup, you'll build 3, they'll all use the same one, then you'll get more chickens....

we had a large coop with over 30 hens and a few roosters and put about 8 nestingboxes inside and they all use just two of them haha i guess it just depens on the chickens
