How many nesting boxes for 2 dozen hens?

I'm not sure, I mean people can tell you what it's supposed to be. I have four for a dozen hens, however all their life, they've only laid in one nest box.

I have 11 hens and 6 nesting boxes 24 inches off the floor, I know this is plenty but and building my flock to have 30 hens and 3 roos. So far the hens that are laying all lay in the same box and from what I can tell they will all use the same box as the flock grows. I think its better to have extra just in case the ladies cant wait .

I have about 90 laying hens and I have 18 nesting boxes. They don't even use all of them. Sometimes I find 7 eggs in 1 nesting box. Go figure!
The nesting boxes are about 24 inches off the ground.

I don't think that there is a set standard on how many nesting boxes to have because they will lay eggs in whatever nesting box they want. I sometimes find 2 hens in 1 nesting box laying an egg while there is a line of hens waiting to get in that same nesting box. I just don't understand those girls of mine.
