How many nests per laying hen do you need?

I am starting a new chicken house.How many nests do I need per laying hen?I've had 2 laying hens,and both hens blocked the nests from the others.

I am new to this, but I have read that they will all lay in the same box so I did a community box, no dividers 42" wide

We shall see how it goes they are a month or so from laying. One box for 7 girls.

You don't need that many. One for sure, I have 4 for a dozen hens, and they all lay in two nests. They tend to pick a favorite, and all of them lay in that one for days or weeks, then one day, they will pick a new favorite. I could easily get by with two nests, but it was already built.

have 3 for 10 hens and they line up to use one....
