How many of you have a chicken like this?

Some of our hens went broody, and out of 20 something eggs, only 4 hatched. All are Silkie/Cochin/Key West Gypsy mixes. The first chick died, but we still have three cute little chicks. Today, I picked up the youngest one and....

The little chick has a foot with 5 toes and one foot with 4 toes!!!

I thought that was so cute....I will have to post pics for you guys to see

We had a silkie cross that had 4 toes on 1 foot and 5 on the other. Now we have a silkie with 5 on 1 foot and 6 on the other.

My neighbour has something like 64 chickens and only 2 have diffrent number of toes on each foot.

Foche has 6 toes on one foot and 3 on the other.
Amada has 5 toes on one foot and 6 on the other.

Both are special girls, but boy they are full of toes.

It's quite common to have silkie or silkie crosses with 4 toes on one foot and 5 on the other. What is tells you is that they do have the polydactyl gene.
