Out of 49 birds, how many roosters is ok?

Ok, seriously.

I think the rule of thumb is one for every 12 hens...so you could keep 4, maybe 5 and be OK under that.

I always say 1 roo to 10 hens. My idea was for every breed I would keep one roo of the same breed so I could hatch my own hatchery quality. It just feeds my addiction to add another breed of 11 to my flock!
