How many times to feed baby chicks

I don't "ferment," I just add water. When they integrate at about 10weeks, they start eating out of the adults feeders, dry. I keep my feed in galvanized cans. When I have "feed dust," I add water to that, the bigs love it like when they were chicks. No feed waste.

SO SMART! I need to bring that idea up and see what my partner says. I think that'll be so much easier/less wasteful. We're using hemp, and it's been great for the rest of the brooder. But we've been doing full clean outs because of all the feed being wasted.

I do remember those days, ugh. It's taken years to pretty much perfect my process. I should have mentioned that I do put waterers and feed dishes up on wood blocks in the brooder so that they don't scratch wood shavings and poo into water and feed.

That was the first thing we did when our little bantam cochin showed off how great she/he was at kicking up things haha! 😆
