I've got now 16 hens and 1 roo, but I'm planing to have 18 to 20 hens and 2 or 3 roos. Too many? the fact is that all the cockerells (now 3 months) are "mapuches"(chilean araucana), so they are rumpless, and some with tufts, and we know the issues that this kind of chicken has whith fertility. 12 pullets are "mapuches" also. The rest some productions , and some mutts. Should keep them all together or better have separate pens? I'll like to have them all together in one pen...anyway I have months ahead to think about it.
