How many roosters?

Nooo, that isn't true at all lol! You can trim them and there is this deal with a potato "please don't look that up.:sick" but they don't pop off.:)
He is one year old (apparently bought last april as a chick from the lady who gave him to me). I don't think he can be rehabilitated. He's got that "Im an A$$hole look" in his eye.
In all other respects, a great rooster. Hardly eats, takes good care of showing his ladies the good grubs, walks them half way back to the barn to lay eggs and runs over to the half way point to pick them back up when they're done. Every egg is fertile.

Is it true I can just "pop off " his spurs with pliers?

The outer sheathing 'pops off', then hardens back up.
'Taking off' or trimming a cockbirds spurs doesn't take care of the problem of a human aggressive bird, tho it might reduce any bloodletting.

Put hot potatoes on his spurs, then slowly loosin them off you twisting back and fourth.

Just a few minutes ago removed my roosters spurs with the potato method l,it all wen over easy, now I feel like I have experienced it all.Just washed it off with warm water and put soem flower on it when it bled,he isn’t acting any different.

We send our bad boys off to rehab at Camp Frigidaire. Perhaps you have a Camp Kenmore or a Camp LG in your home?
DH made a cone, and does the deed...I clean them and package to set to rest in the fridge. Read the meatbird forum section for lots of tips and hints. Seriously, it takes us longer to set up and clean up than to send bad birds to Camp.
Being good to the hens doesn't count if you the owner don't feel safe.

I do as much of that as I can the day before. Set up the area, sharpen knives, and gather the stuff. And especially dig the hole in the garden where the butchering byproducts will be buried.

Set-up is a minor part of it, I can do that in just a few minutes. The clean-up is what takes a while. That includes sterilizing the kitchen where I handled raw meat. My last part of clean-up is washing out the ice chest and sterilizing it with bleach.

I just dump in woods, but hauling it there is what kills me, especially the scalding water....then all the cleaning.

You haul off the scalding water? Wow. I just dump it, at least I did years ago before I started skinning them. But if hauling it off is what kills you can you look at that part of it for an alternative? Like digging a nearby hole.

I don't want the waste in the yard, hole or not...dog digging it up or attracting other animals. Yeah, my foible, so I haul it 100-150' feet into the woods. I use a horizontal hand truck that rolls fairly well, but still. Same for chilling/rinse water and cooler ice/water. I slaughter in garage so everything goes into containers that need to be emptied and cleaned.
