I free range my my small flock of about 10 I currently have 1 Rooster and was wondering if it'd be ok to get another to help keep watch over the chickens? I appreciate the advice in adavance. Thanks!

With 10 hens adding a rooster will most likely result in the roos doing far less watching over and far more fighting.

most critters that kill chickens could care less how many roos you have, they are going to kill whatever they can.aLSO AGREE 2 ROOS WITH 10 hens will probably bring trouble.

I had two different roosters for the two fox attacks on my flock. Lost nine, then seven. The roosters were still around though. Don't count on a rooster to be the answer to predator attacks.

I have had better results with predator awareness by having roosters, but they will not do much predator awareness/protection until they are nearly a year old.

However, 1 roo is enough for 10 hens, add another one and you will be adding problems.
