How many scorplings will there be? Baby update post 111

I am finally putting a new Fatso and wee ones update. First, most of the babies died. I don't think she was feeding them properly or something, maybe? Anyway, they just started dying and dropping off. She has 3 left. They have gone from being chubby white things to more slender, grown up scorpion looking, light off white. LOL They run around playing all over the cage and then go back to her when they want. They will play fight each other which is really adorable. Please excuse her very messy cage. She is extremely protective of tehm and I am NOT cleaning it until they are out. I DID try taking them out earlier (that is the pic in the clear container) but she and the babies freaked out. So, here are the wee ones.

how old are they now?

how long do Scorpions care for their babies?, do you know?

still ew/cute....what was it?, cutew?

WOW......I didn't really realize how old they are! They will be a month old the 19th. As for how long they take care of them, the Internet was NO help.....I read everything from a few day to 7 weeks. Judging by this, I think 7 weeks looks like the right answer.

We lost one earlier today.

He drowned in the water bowl, which has been one of my biggest fears, since they are more active now. When we found him he was already gone and it was unbelievable how sad it made me.

So, we are down to 2. I am going to get some of those sponges like you use for crickets but the pet shop won't be open until tomorrow. I just hope the other two remain safe until then.

It reminds me of "ooo-ing" and "aaahhh-ing" over a maggot...Sometimes I think things are cute just cause they're babies, but I gotta draw the line somewhere.

It's really cool, though!!! Eeewie!!!!

If you can put some cotton like pillow stuffing in the water that will get you through the night. And may be enough and you wont need the sponge. Thats what we use for our hissers.
