Yes, that is how it has happened here. It is a chicken brand new to laying. Once she passed one normal egg and one soft shell off the roost. The other time she passed a normal-sized soft shell and a tiny marble-sized soft shell off the roost. The two times she passed two eggs there was no egg the next day.
