I will never buy from MMH again. I had so many chicks with weird genetic issues, it wasn't even funny.

I feel for your chooks with the top-of-the-foot toes

Looks like a genetic mutation, what a shame, can you get a vet to amputate extra toes?
I would definately not breed from them.
Did you buy these or breed them yourself?

I bought them from McMurry hatchery.

And I definitely wont be breeding them. I'm going to see if I can find a vet that will do it.
I don't know I my friend will or not. He does mostly dogs and cats but he might do it as a favor to me.But I used to work for his practice so he might.

I'll try to get better pictures later on today but of course these two birds are my most skittish.

I do know that silkies are to have 5 toes and a walnut looking comb. My daughter took silkies for the 4-H fair. The judge was a silkie breeder , our cockerell hae 6 toes and the wrong comb as he was a b class. He said if you had the chcik at a young young age youcan take toenail clipper can clip the toe off, bt not to breed with him so now I have to find a white silkie that looks the right way to breed with.
