how many turkeys can fit in this

will they be locked up all day or free ranging and sleeping in the coop at night? If inside all the time and you don't feel bad about the cramped conditions maybe 2. if free ranging you will probably only get them in a few times before they find a tree to roost in.
check out my run, it is 8x24' covered with a 5x7' shed attached. I do lock up 5 birds in the shed during the worst of the winter at night and i did keep them all in the run initially and it was too small. Now I use it for a nursery for one hen and 8 poults.

i am thinking we will just build them a lean2 or something more open an alot cheaper just put some 2x6 in for roosts an some big nesting boxs

Not sure where you live but I would have a place big enough for you to lock them up during bad weather. They will not like being kept up but you can minimize it by starting them in an enclosed coop/run combo for a few weeks and then give them free range access. They will come back to the roost they are used to at night. Dont try to force it on them

Turkeys handle the cold very well! Now, I live in Texas and my part only get about 2 weeks a year of below freezing weather. It did get to about 10degs this year and the turkeys roosted outside oon a metal pipe. I have a barn that they were raised in that is 300X60" and they have full acess but they don't use it except to herass the pinned birds inside.
