As of Thursday I'll be re-entering the workforce. I'll be gone from the house from 7:30 to 5:30 every week day, if not a bit longer.

How much attention do new chicks require at first? Should I try to pick up some from a feed store on a Friday afternoon so I have all weekend to keep an eye on them or will they be fine on their own if I order some from My Pet Chicken and get them on a weekday?

I'd vote get them on a Friday afternoon so you have over the weekend to make sure the heat is adjusted correctly and you don't have any issues with feeders/waterers.

They don't need a lot of attention - just fill up the feeders daily and clean waterers before work and when you get home.

Still, if you end up ordering them, just plan to take that day off to get them settled and you'd probably be OK too.
