how much bleach?

if there is any way you can rip out and replace what the mold is on, that would be far better; especially if it is wood.

You can't really kill mold; all you can do is remove visible mold temporarily.

If you are going to try to remove the visible mold, be very, very careful -- mold releases spores and mycotoxins as it dies (some of the most deadly toxins in the world). The spores and toxins can be deadly in some circumstances if breathed into the lungs.

It is strongly recommended that you wear a real gas-mask when doing this kind of work.

edited to add: Kilz can help stop new mold from growing, but it can fail in the long-term. Whitewash can also help.

I use a cup of bleach in a 5 gal bucket of water and scrub out my coop and I have a sprayer with straight bleach to hit any moldy spots. After cleaning and letting the bleach water sit for a little while I go back with a hose and rince it out real well and then let the coop dry out good. I do it on a nice dry day with low humidity so the coop drys out good before I let the chickens back in. I put their feed and water outside for them while I clean the coop. I have never have seen any adverse health affects with my birds.

10 parts water to 1 part bleach will kill anything. Thats the mix required by the state of Ga for cleaning bio hazards(contaminated blood, vomit an similar). The trick is getting it on what ever ya wont to kill. Mold "in" wood would require you to ether submerse it in a pool of it or keep it soaked in it till the wood soaks it threw.(days)
