How much bread is to much?

My chickens love whole wheat sliced bread. They will fight over it. They are all laying hens and have 16% pellets all you can eat, also scratch feed supplimented and scraps but I worry about the bread. On of the hens flew up and took a whole slice-ran off and ate it then came back begging for more. They all can't seem to get enough! Am i giving them to much at a slice to 1 1/2 each? They are spoiled!

I think that is okay. I just give mine all they can eat. I don't think it can hurt them. They know when to stop eating!

Bread is kind of empty carbs for chickens. It takes up room in their crop that could be occupied by more healthier stuff. As with all carbs, moderation is the best idea.

Mine get the heels of the bread every week. But that's it.
