Hazel is very insistent on sharing my hot dog buns and pretzels and I can't say no to her tiny face- what's the cutoff a day I should enforce? I want to make sure she's healthy above all else but I also think it's important for me to feed her so we can bond.

Hi, and welcome to BYC!

I wouldn't give very much bread as that's empty nutrition-wise.

What would go over better and is much healthier is scrambled eggs.

Avoid pretzels, they have too much salt.
White bread alone is junk food for chickens so give them as little as possible. Brown bread with seeds is better (better for you too). Or you can enrich white bread with whole milk, or unsalted peanut butter to add some protein.

It is recommended to limit treats to about 10% of their diet. How to measure that I'm not sure, but the point is avoid giving many treats of any kind. A treat is anything other than a complete, balanced chicken feed.
