How much did you pay for your rabbit?

Also what is a good price? Most rabbits on craigslist are anywhere from $10-45. That is such a range of prices. Just wondering....what is to little or to much? I just want a calm, healthy, nice and child friendly mini lop as a pet not as a show rabbit or anything.

Depends really on what you're looking for. If you just want a pet and don't care about breed, I wouldn't spend more than $10. Most of the times you can find pet rabbits quite easily for free. However, if you are looking for a specific breed or a show animal, you may have to spend between $15-$100. I've seen some larger breed (and very nicely bred) show rabbits sell for over a hundred. I paid $15 for my girl from auction. She must have been a show or breeder animal at one point because she has awesome conformation. She doesn't have papers now though so she's worth considerably less. SHe's a french lop and pure bred papered ones can be very expensive!

I've paid anywhere from $13-$40 for unpedigreed stock and up to $100 for a pair of registered show quality Holland Lops.

I usually sell my unpedigreed stock for $15-$25 and the pedigreed for $40 and up.

I paid $20 for my Flemish Giant Doe when she was 7 months old. Today she is worth so much more to me; Ive gotten 9 beautiful babies from her that I sold at auction and she has grown to 23 whopping pounds! shes such a sweetie; wouldnt trade her for her wieght in gold, and thats a lot of gold! Wouldnt recommend a Flemish for someone just starting out though; they are incredibly high maintenence and require A LOT of room and probably poop more than they eat LOL

I had a FFA show rabbit that I bought for $25...I didn't show it though I just wanted a bunny. The Rex breed is sooo soft!

please keep in mind rabbits live 10 years that is alot of poop

he eats a purina rabbit feed

I have $10 purebred but pet quality rabbits from the feed store with various markings that would probably be an immediate disqualification at a show. We'll probably sell their offspring for $5. I was asking around for purebred netherland dwarf and most were around $45 because they were at show quality or close to it.

Most rabbits (bunnies) sell for 2-4 dollars a piece around here. A pregnant adult doe might sell for ten or twelve on occasion, usually less. I would never pay over ten dollars for a rabbit unless it was gold plated. And even at ten dollars, it would have to be a purebred adult with bunnies on board.

Just wanted to add, that our kids, all of them, have shown rabbits at the fair that never came from anything costing more than ten dollars. And won ribbons with them. If you are just wanting rabbits for kids 4H type things, any two dollar bunny will get you started just fine.
