How much did you pay for your rabbit?

I breed, show, and sell ARBA fully Pedigreed English Lops and Dutch rabbits. I am highly selective when it comes to buying rabbits and usually pay around $50-$200 per rabbit. Most I ever paid was $225 for an English Lop doe at ARBA Convention/Nationals.

I sell English Lops for around $50, as they do not sell well in my area. Dutch I sell for much higher prices for brood/show stock $60-$125. Mismarks go for $30 depending on type. Chocolates are even higher.

Right now I have...25 rabbits, with 3 brood does due in the next month.

Edit: I had Lionheads for a while and still have a pair if anyone wants them and are willing to pick up let me know. $20 for the pair
Buck is out of Aslan (Dan Young) lines and the doe is a blue non-pedigree. I paid $80 for the buck two years ago.

Finally realised how much I hate lionheads and all the standard crap going on. XD
12 years and the breed has still not passed...

Not to hijack this thread, but how much is the rate to have one spayed or neutered and is it necessary

For a same sex pair, it's not really needed, in my opinion. But a lot of people like it for the health of their pets

I have a Dutch male. Got his from a local breeder of show bunnies. Mine is a Easter special (Not show quality). Paid $25.00 for him. He is 5 years old and the sweetest thing in the world. He has a bell in his hutch and when he wants something he rings the bell. Very easy to care for, as long as you keep the cage(hutch) they live in clean. Mine does not want anything in him area. Straw, shavings, rabbit bedding all ended up on the ground. He has a wood box he gets in, a water bottle, a rabbit toy(a plastic carrot with bells inside) and a rabbit feeder. The kind you get at the Co-op. Oh and a rock he chews and scratches on. It helps keep his teeth and nails in shape.

We paid $8 for a half Rex and half Satin buck.
$8 for a purebred Rex doe.
We asked $10 for our bunnies (mom and dad above) and sold them all without any hesitation from customers!

Here(I am sure completely different market) Lionheads go for 20 max, as do Holland lops, netherland dwarfs and mini lops.

Flemish and french lops 50.00 and I paid 60.00 for my pedigreed english lop.

I guess it really depends on the market!

Just like with dogs and cats, it can be cheaper to adopt from a humane society that already spays or neuters. Around here, the rabbits cost less than at the pet stores and are already spayed or neutered. It's a good deal, as vet costs are quite high where I live. I had a male rabbit that wasn't neutered as a house pet. He was no problem for several years. Then he fell in love with our cat and started spraying. He went in for a neuter after that!
