How much disturbance will a (wild) mama bird tolerate?

As I already posted on another thread, we have a mama wild bird that built her nest on a shelf under our 8 ft. tall carport. I don't know exactly what type of bird she is; my guess is some kind of sparrow.
It's a tight squeeze for three vehicles under the carport so we've been leaving our jeeps in the yard so as not to disturb her, but we did have to park them under it the other night during a hail storm. When I do park my jeep under the carport there's less than a foot-length of space between my driver's door and her nest. The carport is also close to the kitchen door, so there's quite a bit of foot traffic and the dogs going in and out.
I don't want mama to abandon her babies, but we can't exactly tip-toe around the area either.
How much disturbance will she tolerate? She does leave the nest when we're moving the vehicles around, but comes right back.
Also, about how long does it take for sparrow-type babies to leave the nest?

I am not sure about sparrows, but be glad they are not mocking birds!!!! They will dive bomb your head and pull your hair out!!!!! I expect that all birds are different.

If you carry on with your daily things to do etc.. she'll get used to it, but any loud noises or screech type of ones might really disturb her.
Sparrow chicks hatch on the 9-16th day of incubation, and should fledge at round about 3-4 weeks, though I'm not sure.

Okay, they've already hatched but I haven't tried to get close enough to count wide open little mouths waiting to be fed. I know there's at least two.

She should get used to it..
We had one nesting on my front porch right next to my front door. (we could look out our front door and look right into the nest and see all the little babies... It was pretty cool..)
She raised the babies and then they all left... AND they also left us nasty bird mites!!! It was soooo gross...
After they left my hubby went to take down the bird house and he was COVERED with the little mites...
Learned my lesson there..no more bird houses by MY house..

I'll hang them in trees and such in my yard though...

I had a neighbor a couple years ago with a sparrow nest in her carport. They did not abandon the nest and she did not change her routine.
When they came back looking to start another clutch, the neighbor made the nest disappear immediately. She did not care for the mess.

Yeah I do a mite check on my birds and coop once a week, but so far so good *knock on wood*. Surprising really considering that Mr. Sparrow as I call him is still living with my chickens. He eats with them, forages with them, and sleeps in the coop.

DH says the fact that my chooks spend about 1/2 of every day dustbathing is why they've never had mites.
I gave up trying to convince Mr. Sparrow that he's not a chicken.
