How much do adult hens eat?

How much do adult hens eat? I have 3 Golden Comets (a.k.a. isa browns ,red stars, golden buffs, cinnamon queens, etc. ) They get to be around 4-6 pounds and are medium sized birds. And also how much should the feed cost? I have a feeling our feed store might be ripping me off.

I can't tell you how much they eat as mine sometimes empty the container and just forage all day.
I pay 25.95 for a 50# sack of organic layer pellets and one dollar less for the same size sack of scratch which is also organic.

The same size in non organic ranges from $12-19 in my area of northern Ca.
