How much do you guys charge for eggs?

I was figuring on charging 1or 2$ /doz. I didnT start raising chickens to get "rich". I just wanted chickens and didn't want to buy eggs from the store anymore. I consider it a hobby and I don't make money on other hobbies.

I'm too nice because I give about half of my eggs away for free. Everyone loves them and I like for everyone to have fresh, healthy, organic eggs. I eat the other half with my family

I sell mine for $3 a dozen whatever size. I do try to mix up my cartons with different colors and sizes so everyone kinda gets the same. Keep in mind that whatever you sell them for will never recoup what you put into them. I think you would have to sell them for about $10 a dozen to even break even but it at least alleviates the cost somewhat!

This is a hot topic.

I kinda work it backward. I am a hobby BYCer. I figure out the amount I am saving by not buy from the store. There are big difference between factory eggs and organic eggs. I figure mine somewhere in the middle (cage free and part time free range). Since my start-up cost (coop from free material) is very low, I am ahead of the game in feed cost. I use about $1 feed for per week and get average 12 eggs in return.

I live about 15 miles from the steps of Capital in Maryland. I charge $3 per dozen, they pick them up. My BIL did some research on local prices and refuses to pay me less than $5 a dozen. He stops by and picks them up on his way home from work, rain/shine doesn't matter. He's got to have them! So funny!

$2.50/dozen...in this case size doesn't matter. I live in Illinois, but I bring them to work in St. Louis, MO. where most of my customers are glad to pay that.

I started out selling mine for $2 per doz... But I didn't have enough eggs for everyone, so over the two years that I have had my chickens, I have brought the price up to $3 per doz, but I still don't have enough eggs! I am paying for all of the grain, and saving up for extras (chew-proof grain barrel, small run, etc)...

I usually give mine away. But then again giving them to my manager and the CIO of the company I work for could have it's benefits!
