How much do you sell eggs for?

i have been selling them at the end of my driveway and at the CSA i am a part of and i get 3.00 a doz for a rainbow of color and size but i keep the bitty bantam eggs

Hey chicken chick. Long time no talk. So your getting 2.50 where you are?I know they are about 4 bucks for 18 in the store over here. Think I could start at 3.50 and hype the "free range" part? My yunguns have just started laying. I'm keeping them penned up for now. I've found one egg in the lawn and one in the barn. The older ones have figured out the laying box part. Then today, I found an egg just outside the door of the hen house. Glad I have it closed in. I think I am the only one around here that has chickens except for the Amish. Do you candle yours for double yokers or just let them go?

I charge $4/doz. here in FL, and have had no complaints. I've never failed to sell eggs when I bring them someplace (usually church and our homeschool coop) and people are missing them now that production's been cut in half by shorter days.

If we could get organic feed (I've tried all feed stores in a 30 mile radius), I'd charge $5 a dozen.

I'd say...don't sell yourself or your chickens short. You just need to find the right market. DH and I wish we were in the chicken business, we have so many people asking, and not enough to sell.

When mine start laying I'll have plenty of extra to sell to the neighbors, I'm hoping to sell them for $2-3. That'll pay for their feed and then some but mostly I just want to share them so they aren't wasted. If for some reason I can't get rid of them I'll have to reduce my flock considerably...

Hi VM! How have you been? We got ourselves a little blizzard yesterday! Did you? I bet you could sell them for 3.50. I was selling just to my the office gals where my DH works. Then my second batch of girls started laying so I thought I could pick up more sales. However it doesn't seem to be working. I have even posted on Craigs list and placed signs up around town. I gave a free dozen to people I know to try and promote sales, still nothing. The girls have slowed down now with the shortage of daylight so its ok for now. Hopefuly in the spring I can find some buyers. Feed prices are still climbing! To answer your question after rambling on and on! I don't candle, really no reason to. Let me know how you are!

I sell mine for $3 a dozen and have a waiting list. Any new customers that come in will be charged $3.50...Somebody recently told me they bought free range organic at Trader Joes for $7 a dozen! He wants in on my rotation.....glad to have him!

I just bought more pullets I have four people right now that each want a dozen a week, one person that wants a dozen every other week, and two more that just were waitlisted for weekly delivery.

I charge about two dollars a dozen and three for eightteen eggs. But i know people who get atleast 4 dollars for a dozen but at that price i would rather buy eggs and store you can get a dozen for less then a dollar i mean how do u compete
