How much extra do you spend on electricity on heated waterers?

I'm hoping to get away with just putting water inside the coop. It is well insulated and hopefully will never get to below freezing but in case I need to have water outside their coop, I was wondering how much electricity those heated waterers or water heaters heat up.

Sorry, I can't help you. I've never used any type of heated waterer. In the worst part of winter I just use rubber pans for water and if it freezes I just dump out the ice and refill the pans twice a day.
Maybe someone who uses them will chime in.

Yes I do what MFB does and use the black fortex tubs twice a day when it is freezing outside (our season is very short). You can step on them upside down and push the ice out.

But if I lived in a cold climate I'd want one of the above puppies for sure.

I use 40 watt bulbs in my "cookie tin" type heater
It's well worth the money to not have to constantly change the water
