Just wonderning if I should still be providing unlimited feed 24-7 for my pekin ducks ( they are 2.5 weeks old ).. or should I be cutting back??... they have a little dish ( fits two handfuls of feed ) that I usually fill up a couple times throughout the day...is this amount still good?.. or should they get more / less???... should I let them have water/feed throughout the night still ???

They seem to be growing very fast.. Im not sure if thats normal or not ??

It's normal for pekings to grow very fast. I gave mine free choice food abd water to 4 weeks and started cutting back on the feed and protien to where I was only feeding them half a pound of 18% per duck per day. Threy also get some veggie trimmings and weeds and catapillars. At 8 weeks old they are still on this ration and are feathering out fine. Since I feel I am getting beyond leg problems and have no sign of angel wing I am upping their protien to 20% and keeping the ration the same to help them feather out better. They do grow up very very fast!

Mine had free choice 24/7 for 6 weeks, plus salad three or four times a week, plus a few peas once or twice a day. I kept the protein at around 20% for two weeks, then to 18% for about four weeks, now they are on 16% grower/maintenance plus greens and any bugs they can forage.

They grow unimagineably quickly!

i give my rouens 24/7 to food and there healthy as can be i dont think its any differrent for pekins.
