My 11 chickens, 4 ducks and goose go through about 50# combined in under 3 weeks... and that isn't counting the extra oatmeal, peelings, strawberry tops, alfalfa, etc. that they get every day.... Don't tell my husband!
How much feed should you give to geese?

I only got geese ( 3 ) a few weeks ago ... I have no idea about eggs, etc. could you please fill me in on any info I might need .
Feed , ETC. I fixed them a place with plenty of hay to sleep , eat , etc. BUT they don't seem to want to bed down where I set it all up ... suggestions would help .. Thanks for any info

So , they just start laying where ever ? When do they start laying ? I have 2 full flocks of chickens , but I have no idea about geese , as you can tell .

They choose a place for themselves. You can make where you want them to lay more attractive by placing straw or other clean bedding there. But I've had geese decide that the drainage gravel around a waterer was THE best place to lay eggs, everytime I piled straw there for her she moved it and made her shallow depression in the gravel! Guess she knew her business though 'cause she hatched 8 of 11

They get territorial when nesting. I don't think of it as mean, after all I WANT parents who look after & protect their offspring. I respect them and their space during breeding season. If I have to gather their eggs I expect them to be UNHAPPY. I prefer in most instances to let them do the job, except fot the so called heritage breeds.
OK ... I will let the mommy's do their thing ....
