how much feed to feed 21 hens 10 r/reds 11 redsex links

    my hens are not freerange. they are in coop and run all day. i have 2 feeders that i put 1/2 a bag in each one 40lb bag 20lb in each one. it takes them about a wk to empty each one. am i feeding to much feed and can i cut back on the amount i put in feeders with
    out hurting them or egg production. i also put treats in run every day- bread food scraps etc.

    If, if, you do not have waste and if, if you aren't losing feed to mice, rats or other vermin, then they are eating what they'll eat.

    The reason some of us employ feeding in the am and pm a portion control is not for the birds, but for those other issues.

    5.5 pounds a day is what 21 hens will eat, on average. You can do the math and see if this compares to what you using. It might then provide a basis for judging whether you're losing feed to other critters or to waste.
