how much feed

Can anyone tell me how much a laying hen should be fed a day. Is there a certain amount listed anywhere?

Like with dogs you are to feed X amount of cups a day of dog food for their weight.

Is there anywhere that it states this?

I have my feeder full at all times. No way would I ration out feed to a chicken

i feed my RIR hen 2 ounces in of scratch and 1 of layer and she lays fine

The vast majority of people do ad-lib feeding, except when wild birds etc. consume more feed than the poultry do! I feed ad-lib, and I have never had an overweight bird to date. However, I have heard that the ballpark figure is 120g/hen/day.
