How much food do I feed 24 chickens

I have every predator known in norteast USA. Bear, raccoon, fox, etc. I leave food and water out all day starting when they come out in the morning. Then when I tuck them in at night I bring the feeders indoors so they don't attract critters. Scratch is only given during my visits to the run. Water stays in the run 24/7 unless it's winter and I'm not using the heated one. Then that comes indoors at night and returned in the morning.

While we do want chickens to have full crops throughout the day and into the night, it is wise to manage intake to some degree. You need to be feeling your birds every once in awhile, because allowing them to become obese can cause all kinds of health problems like becoming eggbound and/or egg yolk peritonitis. You don't have to weigh it to the gram, but it's wise to actively monitor your birds and their intake and adjust accordingly. Some birds never overeat to that degree, some birds (individuals) very much will.
