How much food for a flock??

I am a soon to be new chicken owner and wondering how much feed a flock of 12-15 chickens will go through per month? I will throw kitchen scraps and such, but want to know how to budget. They will be free range in a large back yard. I live in Wisconsin, so wondering how to do things in the winter as opposed to the summer. I really do want to have them eating as much natural as possible (not organic per-say...but natural) Thanks.

Well, we don't free-range, but our flock (16 chickens) goes through, on average, one 50 lb. bag of feed per ten days.

I have 19 laying hens and put out about 25 pounds every 4 days or so. Sometimes it last longer (when I feed more scraps and treats) other times they go though it a day faster (especially when it is cold). Hope this helps!

The rule of thumb is 1/4 lb per day for light breeds and 1/3 lb for heavy breeds, when they are laying, with no other food.

When mine do not free range, I average 25lbs p/week with 15 hens, 3ducks and 2 geese along with table scraps and some cracked corn.
With them free ranging, I go through about 1/2 of that or even less now that the grass is turning green and the weather is improving!!
