How much food is to much?

I'm just wondering if this sounds about right. We feed twelve chicks ages 4-8 weeks old. They went through almost 20 lbs. of food in a little over a week. Does this sound about right?

That seems about right, they're growing and need to get the rest of their feathers in.

I go through 2 50lbs bags every 1-2 weeks for my 24 chickens.

That's right. A general guide I use for our full-grown birds is 4 ounces of feed for small/light breeds, 6 ounces for large/heavy birds. If you feed free choice and let them out (so they aren't bored) when they are grown, they should self-regulate their intake.
