Package says .5 cc for 10 pound swine. Doyou think doing .2-.25 is good for chicken?Poultry DVM says 5mg/kg subcutaneously every 12-24 hrs. http://www.poultrydvm.com/drugs/oxytetracycline. The packaging should list the concentration, so you'll need to convert mL/mg to mg/kg. I'm a scientist, so I am happy to double-check your conversion if you are feeling nervous about it.
Best of luck to your chicken!
If around .25ml was a good amount do you think that I should do it once? DVM says every 12 - 24 hours but mine is more of a presentation and possible infection not 100% sure.Poultry DVM says 5mg/kg subcutaneously every 12-24 hrs. http://www.poultrydvm.com/drugs/oxytetracycline. yes one cc = one ml. Thanks for pinging the experts1 cc = 1 ml.
As to the rest? I'm leaving that to the experts. @Eggcessive @Wyorp Rock etc
While I can do the math, poultry disease and treatment isn't something I've studied much, and I'm uncomfortable offering more than the simple statement of fact, above, and a "chicken signal" for expert attention.
Assuming you have an adult standard hen, that sounds about right since that dosage would be for a 5-lb hen. I am not a vet, but was advised by one to give my chicken antibiotics 1x/day for 4 days following a possum attack in order to prevent infection. Hopefully someone on here will have some more expertise than me on this!Package says .5 cc for 10 pound swine. Doyou think doing .2-.25 is good for chicken?

Some do use this oxytetracycline since they cannot easily obtain antibiotics without a vet.
