How much grit should I feed my birds?

We have four 6 month old hens, do they need to have a grit added to their diet? if so how much or do I sprinkle it on the grouns like chicken scratch.

You can offer it free-choice in a bowl separate from their usual feed. They'll take as much as they need. If they free range and small pebbles are readily available you don't have to provide grit.
